Dr. Katherine O'Daniels teaches courses in literacy assessment and instruction to students seeking initial teaching certification at both the graduate and undergraduate level in both face-to-face and online settings. Dr. Rogers is an educational researcher who specializes in literacy studies, teacher learning and critical discourse studies. Her research focuses on the socio-political contexts of literacy and language education and situates critical discourse analysis within an ethnographic tradition. Thomas Schnell received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale with a major in English and a minor in Speech. He received a Master of Science degree from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, majoring in Secondary Education-Reading and minoring in English literature. His Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis in Reading was awarded by SIU-Carbondale.
