William C. Kyle, Jr., Ph.D.
E. Desmond Lee Family Professor of Science Education

Bill Kyle is the E. Desmond Lee Family Professor of Science Education. He received a BS in Biology from LeMoyne College (Syracuse, NY) and a MS and PhD in Science Education from The University of Iowa. Prior to joining the UM-St. Louis faculty in 1996, Professor Kyle taught middle and high school science in New York and Iowa and between 1982 and 1996 he served as a faculty member at the University of Texas - Arlington, University of Connecticut, and Purdue University. Bill served as the Executive Director of NARST from April 2007 through December 2018. Jerome Ellis Morris, Ph.D.
E. Desmond Lee Endowed Professor of Urban Education

Dr. Jerome E. Morris is the E. Desmond Lee Endowed Professor of Urban Education (in conjunction with St. Louis Public Schools). His research is grounded in sociology, anthropology, school reform, and urban studies. As a social scientist, Dr. Morris’ scholarship reflects a deep and abiding familiarity with communities, families, and schools. The nexus of race, social class, and the geography of educational opportunity is a major theme of Dr. Morris’ scholarship, and he has been in the forefront of highlighting the centrality of the U.S. South in understanding Black people’s experiences.
