College of Education

Educational Psychology, Research, and Evaluation

Our Department is committed to advancing the field of educational psychology through teaching, scholarship and service in the St. Louis metropolitan area, and in the wider national and international communities.

The Educational Psychology, Research, and Evaluation department of the College of Education provides an array of undergraduate and graduate courses to support university programs. An educational Psychology (Ed Psy) designation is used for courses about teaching/learning issues and child and adolescent development. Educational Research (Ed Rem) courses focus on issues of methodology, both quantitative and qualitative, as well as offerings on evaluation processes. The Division has developed a core of doctoral level seminars to prepare students for advanced work. The newly revised undergraduate teacher education program has two of the seven core courses from Educational Psychology, recognizing the importance of building practice on solid theoretical foundations.

Faculty in the Department of Educational Psychology, Research, and Evaluation are housed on the fourth floor of Marillac Hall. Information about course offerings may be obtained in the division office, 469 Marillac Hall.

At the undergraduate level, the division coordinates educational psychology and measurement courses required in the various B.S. in education degree programs.

The Missouri School Psychologist Certification is coordinated through this division. Students choosing to pursue a Ph.D. in education may elect an emphasis in educational psychology. The Division has designed a review and admissions procedure for students who choose to work towards a Ph.D. in educational psychology after acceptance to another doctoral program in College of Education.
