Minutes Approved:

• December 5, 2018 meeting minutes were approved with a few edits by consensus. 
  • James moved motion to approve from December 2018

Updates from the Office of Educator Effectiveness and Accreditation:

• No formal update: Continuously working with CAEP on Accreditation.

Reports from the CPQC Subcommittees: 

• Doctoral Dissertation and Travel Grant Selection Subcommittee:
  • No formal updates
  • Travel grant and Dissertation Award application to be sent out this month. Candidates must be nominated by faculty 
• Doctoral Program Subcommittee:
  • Had their meeting, discussed admissions requirement in relation to GRE scores, policies and exemptions
  • Continuous discussion on if candidates who took the GRE 5-7 years ago to be accepted or required to retake GRE
  • Revamping website for faculty and students
  • SUGGESTING - Ed.D. Programs to have one representative from each of the cohorts to start meeting once a month to discuss administrative strategies. 
• Education Certification Subcommittee:
  • No formal updates
  • Program updates continuing; admission program alignment and advising forms
  • Standards of admissions- language was edited however nothing was removed or changed

Review of course and program proposals:

  • TCH ED 6260 and 6910: New Courses
  • Motion approved anonymously
• ED Psy 6113 Dropping this course because it is cross listed with CNS ED 6070

• Sport Management: 9 courses to be added
  • James moved motion to approve package for courses to be added to the COE
    • Nikki seconded
      • Motion approved anonymously
• Sports Management Proposal: B.S. New Degree to be added to the COE
  • James moved motion to approve proposal for new degree program to be added to the COE
    • Shawn seconded
      • Motion approved anonymously

Other Items:

• Provost decided that this program is to be added under the COE with the option to have 7 minors in other schools to choose from. No other Universities in this area has this program with a Business and Community Tract. Sports Marketing and Sports Psychology: these courses are not developed yet and there are letters of support for both, working on developing them soon. This program was one of the top 5 requests to the registrar office. Theresa suggested that the new hire comes in at Tenure Tract Associate or Full Professor because of the workload of the program. Mike reported that Timothy, Don and he has been working to get this proposal done and submitted since June 2018.
• GREAT Job to Timothy for his hard work and dedication with getting this proposal completed– and the cover letter is to be amended to include Timothy’s name for him to put in his portfolio for when he is able to apply for tenure.
• Next meeting will be Wednesday, March 6, in the Boeing Room from 1-3pm.
