UMSL Charter Schools
The University of Missouri – St. Louis sponsors 8 charter Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) consisting of three elementary schools, two middle schools, three K-8 schools and one high school, serving students residing in St. Louis, Missouri. Two additional schools are scheduled to open in the 2018-2019 school year.
A charter school is an independent public school that operates under a contract, (referred to as the "charter") with its sponsor, usually a public entity such as a state university.
