In addition, the Counseling and School Psychology programs are accredited by their respective professional organizations. The graduate faculty is comprised of full-time professors with doctorates in their areas of specialization from universities known around the world. Your graduate diploma from the University of Missouri- Saint Louis will be recognized by all as representing achievement in a high quality program and demanding curriculum.
This information is designed to help you submit you application to the Graduate School and your program in time to begin your studies in a timely fashion. You should pay close attention to deadline dates as they vary by degree program. Please understand that the College of Education will do everything possible to process applications in a timely fashion once we receive them from the Graduate Admissions Office, but the Graduate School is very strict about deadline dates. Please start your application process early.
Specific details about requirements and deadline for our various programs are found in the following table. Here are the tasks to be completed:
- Start by having official transcripts from all the colleges and universities you have attended sent to Graduate Admissions, 217 Millennium Student Center, One University Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63121. Typically you will contact the Registrar’s Office at those institutions. This is typically one of the processes that takes the longest and holds up consideration of your application, so the sooner you complete this task, the better your chances of starting you studies on time.
- Apply for admissions. Go to the UMSL home page (http://www.umsl.edu). In the upper right there is a Useful Links pull-down menu. Click on the arrow and select “Apply for Admissions”. Be sure to complete the Graduate School application. There is a $35.00 application fee for the first-time applicants.
- Not all our programs require test scores. If your program requires Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores, arrange to take the exam and have your scores sent to UMSL.
- If your program requires a supplemental application or letters of recommendation, have those items sent to the Graduate Education Office, College of Education, UMSl, 1 University Blvd., Saint Louis, Mo. 63121.
