Terrell Clay

On Wednesday, March 22nd, 2017, ninth grade Sumner student Terrell Clay was chosen to speak at a Clayton Ladue Rotary Club Luncheon. He presented his first place UMSL scholarship essay to club members and shared stories about the many positive experiences he has benefited from as a 2016-2017 writing mentoring student in RITE's Conscious Choice Program. His mentor, Timothy Durbin, spoke about all of Terrell's exemplary qualities and encouraged other Rotarians to become writing mentors. During their presentations, both Terrell and Timothy thanked members for their generous donations to programming and explained that their contributions made these memorable learning opportunities possible.
