Lynn Navin earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Bowling Green State University in 1984. She earned a Master of Arts in Child Development from Michigan State University in 1991. Infant Mental Health was an area of emphasis.  She is currently pursuing her PhD in Teaching and Learning Processes.

Lynn Navin holds a clinical faculty position in the College of Education, and has been the director of the Child Development Center since 1992. She serves as the area leader in Early Childhood Education.  She teaches the Infant and Toddler and Preschool Curriculum and Practice course each semester as well as several graduate courses in the online Early Childhood emphasis area of the MED program.  Lynn oversees the university students who are doing field work within the Child Development Center and supports the research of faculty members using the child development center. 

Lynn has experience teaching infants and toddlers; preschool, and kindergarten children. She has been the director of the Child Development Center at UM-St. Louis since January 1992. She has over 25 years experience in Early Care and Education administration. Lynn is active in many professional organizations including the National Association for the Education of Young Children.  She is also involved in the Beyond Housing initiative in the North County neighborhoods of St. Louis.
