Visit UMSL

There are many opportunities throughout the year to visit and tour UMSL.

Orientation

New and transfer undergraduate students should plan to attend an orientation session. Please visit Orientation to learn more about this important event. Graduate students should go to the Graduate School’s Admitted Students page to learn more about your UMSL experience.

Registration

The COE Office of Advising requires that all undergraduates meet with their advisors each semester before enrolling in classes. Graduate students should meet with their academic advisors at the beginning of their first semester. We encourage you to visit your advisor and enroll early; however, we do offer extended hours in the weeks before the start of each semester to help meet your last-minute needs. Please see our hours and location for more information.

Apply to the Teacher Education Program (BSEd Students)

In order to complete your upper level education coursework, you must  meet the following conditions:

• Total cumulative GPA (from all institutions you have attended) of 2.75 or higher
• Passing MoGEA test scores or ACT score ≥20
• Completion of introductory education coursework
• Current TB test and background check information uploaded into MyCOE

You will work with your advisor to determine when the time is right to complete this step.

Apply to Practicum (BSEd)

Apply for an Internship (BES) 

Apply during the semester before your internship. Deadlines and the most up-to-date information can be found at Information for BES Student Internships.

Apply to Graduate

Please remember that graduation is the completion of your degree program and not the same as the commencement ceremony. Please watch your UMSL email for deadlines and other information related to commencement.

Graduate Students

Please watch for communication from your advisor and the graduate school for all information related to deadlines within your program and graduation.
