COE Alum Publishes Important Book

College of Education alum Dr. Betty K. Garner has just published a book with the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) of Alexandria, VA, entitled "Getting to Got It!": Helping Struggling Students Learn How to Learn."  ASCD has chosen it as the book they send to all their members for November 2007.

Betty, a former art teacher in Pattonville School District, completed her Ed.d. in the College of Education in 1991.

Dean Charles Schmitz said that "Dr. Garner is just another example of the highly accomplished and influential educators prepared by the College of Education at UM-St. Louis. We are proud of Betty as we are all of our important alumni."
