Margaret
Ann Niederberger

Education
Margaret Ann Niederberger earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and
Education from Lindenwood College in 1968. She earned a Master of
Education with an emphasis in curriculum analysis and design from
Lindenwood College in 1990. She completed additional course work in
education at Truman State University and the University of Missouri-St.
Louis.
Research and Teaching
As a faculty member in the Division of Teaching and Learning, Margaret
Ann brings her thirty years of teaching experience in public schools
to her work. While a public school classroom teacher, Margaret Ann
was the Chairperson of the Language Arts Department, a mentor teacher
for first and second year teachers, and a member of the St. Charles
School District's professional development committee. While at the
University of Missouri - St. Louis, she has been involved in research
concerning both mentors and mentees. Her teaching emphases at the
University of Missouri - St. Louis are in Children's Literature and
Methods of Teaching Language Arts and Reading. She has served as a
supervisor of Student Teachers and is currently a literacy liaison
in the Elementary Education Department's Professional Internship program.
She is also actively involved with the development of partnerships
with schools and UMSL preservice teachers.
