Dr. Moberly is an Associate Professor, specializing in Early Childhood Education, in the Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Missouri at St. Louis.
Dr. Moberly has recently joined the faculty at UMSL from the University of Memphis.
At the University of Memphis, Dr. Moberly served as the Early Childhood Coordinator, Director of the Early Childhood Advancement Institute, and Director of several grants funded at a level of $5 million over the last seven years.
Specifics of Dr. Moberly's experiences are:
- Director of the Ready, Set, Grow! Pilot Project (RSG). RSG is an NAEYC accreditation facilitation project. RSG has supported 19 centers becoming accredited and 3 centers reaccredited in Shelby County, Tennessee.
- Director of the University of Memphis Head Start Centers of Learning. These centers of excellence provide services for 40 children and families in classrooms at the Barbara K. Lipman Research Center and True Light Baptist Church. In addition a Family Literacy Center provides adult education, parent education and parent/child activities focusing on literacy and children's development. The Centers of Learning provide multiple types of professional development opportunities for all Head Start teachers and administrators in Shelby County (over 400 professionals).
- Directed the National Board Certification Initiative of the U of M and Memphis City Schools 2003-2005.
- Research Support Specialist for the Home Visitation Assessment.
- NCATE/ACEI Program Reviewer and Auditor.
- Public school kindergarten teacher, Director of a private childcare center, and Director of the SIU Child Development Laboratories.
- Assistant Professor at Southeast Missouri State for four years.
- Instructor at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale for nine years and worked in various roles on Early Childhood grants for six years.
- Specializes in Early Childhood Curriculum, administration of programs for young children, early childhood leadership and advocacy, and family involvement.
- Research interests are leadership decisions, developing teacher dispositions, and reflection.
