Jennifer M. McAfee Maag, Ph.D.

Education

Dr. Jennifer McAfee is the Director of the School and Family Counseling Center at the University of Missouri - St. Louis in the Division of Counseling and Family Therapy. She completed a dual Ph.D. in Counseling and Educational Psychology at the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2008. She received her Master's in Clinical Psychology from Evangel University in 2002 and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2000 from Missouri Southern State University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a certified elementary educator in the state of Missouri and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. She is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the Association for Counselor Educators and Supervisors (ACES).

Research

Dr. McAfee's research interests include teaching and learning in counselor education and counseling focusing on individuals with neuromuscular disease.

Teaching

Dr. McAfee teaches group counseling, community counseling practicum and community counseling field experience at UM-St. Louis. Courses she instructed in other departments and institutions include: psychology of teaching and learning, educational psychology, human sexuality, and introductory psychology.
