RESEARCH AND TEACHING

My interests are in the following areas:  female development and more specifically adolescent girls; second stage of life issues; supervision and screening processes in counselor education. As a result of my interest in the issues facing adolescent girls, I designed and was Executive Director of The Empowering Young Women Conference for 15 years.  The conference has impacted the lives of thousands of young women in the St. Louis metro area, and has served as a networking organization for school counselors training them to effectively address the needs of the adolescent girls they serve.

In the fall of '06, I stepped down from chairing the Division after 8 years.  During my tenure as chair, the division became nationally accredited by CACREP; we secured nationally and internationally recognized faculty and elevated the program to a nationally recognized counselor education program.
