Welcome to Teacher Certification and Advising

Attention Summer and Fall Semester 2008 Students:

You must get an on-line background check and a TB test in order to complete your summer field experience work.

Background Check Site: https://coe.umsl.edu/bach/index.cfm

Background checks expire after one year. We highly encourage you to purchase the multi-year option.

TB tests can be obtained at your private physician's office or at the Student Health Center.

Teacher Education Program ACT Score Requirement Change Effective 11-1-07:
The Teacher Certification and Advising Office now requires a documented ACT Score on file in 155 Marillac Hall.

  • Career Transitions Program - This program is designed to prepare mid-career professionals for teacher certification.
  • Transition to Teaching Program - Many rural and urban schools in Missouri face a shortage of special education teachers and secondary school teachers in areas such as math, science, music, art and foreign language.
