Welcome to the College of Education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis! The Teacher Certification and Advising Office offers academic advising to students seeking the Bachelor of Science in Education degree and certification, the Bachelor of Educational Studies degree  and most post- degree certification programs. Academic advising is an important service you will receive while at UM-St. Louis  for information needed to support you  throughout   your courses of study and certification procedures. You  may apply to the College of Education at the freshmen level. After 60 semester hours of college work with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher,  passing the C-Base with a score of 235 or above and an  ACT score of 20 or above, students are  admitted to the Teacher Education Program. (See the UM-St. Louis Bulletin for complete list of requirements for formal admission to the Teacher Education Program or the link to Teacher Certification Programs Checklist above). Students must be in residence at UM-St. Louis for their last 30 semester hours to graduate and/or earn Missouri teacher certification.

We also offer a Beginning Teacher Assistance Program as well as alternative certification programs. You will find more information on these options on our website.
