The St. Louis Teacher Enhancement Partnership (STEP) is a collaborative
effort between the College of Education and the College of Arts & Sciences
at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, eighteen St. Louis public
schools and St. Louis Charter School. This partnership is funded
by a grant from the U. S. Department of Education and sponsored by
the College of Education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
THE MISSION of STEP is two-fold. First,
to solidify a pipeline of high-quality teachers to urban schools in
the city of St. Louis, Missouri.
Second, to increase the academic achievement
levels of urban students.
THE METHOD to achieve these goals is through our
commitment to:
- Increase school and community engagement and partnerships
- Increase technology integration in the classroom
- Integrate the knowledge of local community in the classroom
- Increase supply and retention of teachers to urban districts
WE HAVE RESOURCES FOR YOU! STEP
is an information and resource network for UM-St. Louis faculty
and students majoring in education and for faculty and administrators
in St. Louis Public Schools. We have activities that range
from Professional Development events to technology training seminars. Browse
