Science Journalists


Dr. Julie Ann Miller is an active partner and advisor on the grant. She is currently Deputy Editor for NIDA Notes, which is published under contract to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. She is the former Editor-in-Chief of Science News and former Editor of Bioscience, a publication of the American Institute of Biological Sciences. Under her leadership, Science News launched Science News for Kids—an online children’s science magazine. Miller holds a Ph.D. in neurosciences and a masters in journalism, and is a American Association for the Advancement of Science Fellow.

David Robson is a former Science Teacher and Web development coordinator at Towson High School (Maryland). He is also the former editor-in-chief of and writer for ChemMatters, a chemistry magazine for high school students that is published by the American Chemical Society.

Naomi Lubick splits her time between California and Zurich, Switzerland. She has written for Nature, Science, Scientific American, Environmental Science & Technology, and elsewhere.

Rebecca Renner is based in Williamsport, PA. She has written for Science, salon.com, Environmental Health Perspectives, Environmental Science & Technology, and numerous other publications.
