5 Pillars of Islam

  • Faith – there is no god worthy of worship except God and Muhammad, his messenger
  • Prayer – Salat, obligatory papers performed 5 times daily
  • Zakat – all things belong to God, wealth is held by humans in trust
  • Fast – abstaining from food, drink and sexual relations
  • Pilgrimage – Hajj, obligation to make annual pilgrimage if physically and financially able
